42nd Annual Luminaria

Join us this year on Sunday, Dec. 20 as the beloved Luminaria returns for its 42nd year, festively lighting Riverside and Avondale with thousands of luminaries to celebrate the holiday season.

Each luminary kit contains six bags and six candles bundled, and one bag of pre-measured sand. It is recommended to place one luminary every 6 feet. One kit will cover an area of approximately 36 feet. An average home will need a minimum of two kits for the front yard (three kits for a corner lot), and an extra kit(s) for a side yard, walkway, front porch, or any other architectural feature.

PLEASE NOTE: All purchased kits, starter packs, posters and other merchandise will be available for pick up at the Buckland House, home of RAP, located at 2623 Herschel Street on the following dates:

• Friday, Dec. 18: Inaugural Pick-Up Party, 4:30 - 7:30pm
• Saturday Dec. 19: 10am - 4pm
• Sunday, Dec. 20: 10am - 4pm

HOME DELIVERY
To save you time and scheduling headaches, RAP will deliver your Luminaria kits and other purchases the week of December 14. Home delivery must be purchased by 11:59pm EST on Friday, Dec. 11.

If you purchase home deliver, a RAP volunteer or team member will deliver your full Luminaria purchase any time between Dec. 5 and Dec. 18. The delivery will be placed on your front porch or stoop and hidden as best as possible. If you live in an access-controlled apartment or condo building, or need to communicate special instructions to ensure your delivery gets to you, please contact travis@riversideavondale.org.

HELP RAP LIGHT OUR NEIGHBORHOOD PARKS!
To make our neighborhood glow even brighter during Luminaria, RAP funds more than 5,000 kits to light the 26 public parks in Riverside and Avondale. This year, help RAP fund some of these costs with a special "Light A Park" sponsorship. Your name with a special memorial (optional) will be included on the 42nd Annual Luminaria map that will be included with all purchases. Sponsorships must be ordered by Thursday, Dec. 10 to be included on the map.

CONSIDER A DONATION
In addition to lighting the public parks in Riverside and Avondale, RAP also funds kits to provide, free of charge, to neighborhood churches, community spaces, merchant districts, and other public areas.
