41st Annual Luminaria
One of the premier holiday events in Jacksonville, Luminaria has brought friends, family and neighbors together for one, joyous Sunday evening in December to illuminate the historic Riverside Avondale district by candlelight for the past 41 years.
Join us this year on Sunday, Dec. 21 as Riverside Avondale shines brightly once again!
Each luminary kit contains 6 bags and 6 candles bundled, and 1 bag of sand. It is recommended to place one luminary every 6 feet. One kit will cover an area of approximately 36 feet. An average home will need a minimum of 2 kits for their front yard, and extra for a side yard, walkway, or any other architectural feature.
PLEASE NOTE: All purchased kits, starter packs, posters and other merchandise will be available for pick up at the Buckland House, home of RAP, located at 2623 Herschel Street on the following dates:
- Friday, Dec. 19: Inaugural Pick-Up Party, 4:30 - 7:30pm
- Saturday Dec. 20: 10am - 4pm
- Sunday, Dec. 21:10am to 4pm
Consider a donation to help fund the more than 5,000 Luminaria kits that RAP provides, free of charge, to neighborhood parks, churches' community spaces, merchant districts, and other public areas. This year's Luminaria ornament is a beautiful glass blown piece designed and created by Burnt Glassworks. The colors are inspired by the 2025 Luminaria artwork above.
